Bay View Rolling Mill : The Reason We Exist
Description:
Lithograph of Bay View Rolling Mill.

What's the story?:
The factory began being built in 1867, and was completed in about four years. It included boiler shops, puddling furnaces, a blacksmith shop, and store houses. The purpose of the mill was to reroll and straighten railroad tracks-made of iron at the time-that became bent or worn out after a few years use. The first reroll at the mill took place in 1868.
